Both sides of my family originated from Ireland, the Kyles from Roscommon and Tipperary (in the south) and the Kirkpatricks from Ballymacarrett, East Belfast.  There are mixed marriages and a great diminution of all religious difference by the time these original ancestors arrive in New South Wales, the Kyles (1841) and the Kirkpatricks (1884).
