of the major parts of the collection is that of ‘The Crown Street Collection’
which contains many rare items of equipment and materials used by midwives
since the late 19th century and a fascinating collection of early photographs.
Some early records of the former Crown Street Women's Hospital have also been
returned to State Records. We have received acknowledgment and thanks for the
return of these important records to official custody. Anyone can access the
material in State Records through Archives Investigator at
www.records.nsw.gov.au. If you are interested in learning more ‘Archives in

provides information on all of the current Crown St material maintained by

The Prince Henry Hospital Trained Nurses
Association’s Nursing and Medical Museum came into
being as the result of the need to preserve our nursing and medical history.

Sunday & Monday: 1pm to 5pm
Anzac Parade, Little Bay, (just past Long Bay
Gaol).
Records of St Margaret's Hospital are held in the Mitchell and
Dixson Libraries Manuscript Collection, State Library of New South Wales (MLMSS
6711). Access to the records is restricted.
